Misty Huia
When air moves like water and clouds move close to the earth we experience mist. The morning breeze gently rolls the mist over the mountains of Huia creating a heavenly effect of sun light piercing through the clouds to unvail one of many places to be treasured in the Waitakere ranges, Huia.
It is told that now known as Glastonbury in the United Kingdom was a place once called Avalon home to the Priestesses of the druids. When Christians tried to destroy Avalon it was protected by mist created from druid magic. The mist split the world of Avalon and it became like the land of the fairy, another world upon our own.
Our own mystic race known as Patu-Paiarehe deep forest dwellers travelled by night and after dawn if there was mist. Our world and theirs are least divided on misty mornings, as we look through passages clearing in the clouds upon the earth we may journey to the mystical land of these ancient fairy folk.
